Sri Lanka is home to many native species and, unfortunately, endangered species as well. With over seven national parks across the country, tourists can take their pick and organise wildlife tours through any park to get the chance to see our majestic wildlife – the most famous being Yala National Park. Sri Lanka is home to the Sri Lankan leopard, which, if you’re lucky, can be seen in Yala. A must see is the Pinnawela Elephant Park, where orphaned elephants are bred, housed, and nurtured.
